Bournemouth sold *check notes* Zabarnyi for £57m, Huijsen £50m, Kerkez £40m, Ouattara £45m and Semenyo for £65m in January for a very grand total of £257m *checks maths. not a strength*. Bournemouth continued playing attractive, winning football, ending the season unbeaten in 18, sixth in the table and qualified for Europe for the first time ever in their 127 years. Iraola has done a magnificent job – and so has Bournemouth’s recruitment department. Kroupi and Scott the latest gems being polished. Senesi, a £12m signing from Feyenoord four years ago, leaves a free agent to Spurs with plenty of good wishes following his fine defensive service over 128 games. Bournemouth get good value out of players and/or good value for them. Well-run club. Pity that Iraola is leaving and missing out on the European adventure that he helped secure. Leaves team in good shape for incoming Rose. Coaches and players...it's all in the succession planning. #AFCB

The Spurs’ game plan adjustment of no longer high-trapping SGA and instead letting the nearby helpers collapse on him at the nail has shut down the Thunder offense tonight. The Spurs are no longer gambling on giving up wide-open 3s repeatedly and that has made the game just more predictable for the Spurs. The Thunder just crossed the 50-point threshold with 3:30 left in the game, which is shocking. The Thunder are just 2/17 from deep after having a great deep shooting night in game 3.

10 years ago a 73 win Warriors team overhelped on Russ & KD and dug themselves a 3-1 hole. Then they forced those 2 to beat them 1 on 1 all game, stopped giving OKC role players practice shots, and came back. San Antonio now attempting similar.

@Browngod14 The difference is the referees don’t swallow their whistle as often when they should. With Harden they’d just stop calling anything on some of his drives at points and he lost. And the Rockets didn’t flop on defense as much either. So this is just worse.

Like it or not flopping is as much a part of SGA's game as it is Hardens', the diff is that we know SGA doesn't need to fall back on it as a clutch but does anyways. Thunder are like Arsenal using every margin they can, even the refs, to win games. Shit product but effective.

Also the series hasn’t been that good since Game 1. A lot of sequences like this last one where SGA has 6 seconds on clock, realizes he can’t go anywhere and falls into Wembanyama. Foul called. What a silly parody of a sport. WWE for real. Lacking truly flashy problem solving.

Arsenal play easy teams the rest of the way. 4 bottom 10-20th placed sides for Arsenal where City have 4 top 10 teams to play. Wouldn’t be surprised if Arsenal hobbled their way to PL title and CL Final. Whether they’d have enough juice for the final is a different story.

Huijsen and Carreras are excellent buildup players. They struggle defensively at times but hardly in a way that you can’t work around. The very notion that they’re bad signings is largely a reflection of Real Madrid’s environment.

When Ramos left Real Madrid it seemed unlikely that he’d be replaced anytime soon, especially as Varane left the same summer. Militao was elite but young. Alaba came in and provided much needed leadership and experience to our backline. Key against Liverpool too. Yes his contract was a lot to handle, and injuries a shame, but that first season pretty much made it all worth it.
