Vini’s 2 best spells of form in the last 2 years came exactly when Mbappe is either out of form or injured. People keep saying Mbappe will stay out of his way. But Valverde also scores less with Mbappe on the pitch. And then when Jude is there too.. yeah idk. Arbeloa’s headache.

This isn't a dig at Mbappe, if you remove Vini and put a fully-fit Mbappe up top the team would also look much better and more cohesive, the problem is that they simply just can't coexist both offensively and defensively

2 straight years of the team looking more cohesive with just one of Vinicius/Mbappe is a strange place to be. The million dollar question is what Arbeloa does when everyone is healthy. Moving off one of them this summer still feels necessary. But Florentino may not care.

One thing that seems to be lost with all the Cherki talk is that what he did was actually useful. He was 1) killing Arsenal’s momentum/wasting time 2) baiting to win a foul and 3) keeping the ball. All three were things Man City needed at the time. The conversation is funny.

Regarding the Fede decision It’s not an issue in isolation. But there’s a general lack of sentimentality towards La Liga as a competition, an apathy that’s built up with Negreira, etc. No complaints if we can shake up the landscape of football somehow and leave.
