Former State Delegate, District 29B Deb Rey for Maryland, Judith Gwynn Treas.

For 10 years, Brielle Thomas has cared for her disabled brother at home in Frederick County. Now, she says Maryland's planned cuts to Developmental Disabilities Administration caregiver payments may force her to stop. Beginning July 1, some family caregivers will see their pay reduced by dollars per hour under changes tied to broader DDA budget cuts approved earlier this year. Families say the reductions come as the cost of living continues to climb and many caregivers already work without health insurance, retirement benefits or paid leave. "It's already hard enough," Thomas said. "But now having the pay decrease as well when the price of everything is going up, I don't see how I could manage that." Spotlight on Maryland's @conrad_brooke examines how the cuts are impacting families who say they are being asked to do more with less while caring for some of the state's most vulnerable residents.

@RonDeSantis I’m all for tax relief, but Florida isn’t just going to wake up one day and say ‘nah, we don’t need billions in property tax revenue anymore.’ If this passes, they’re replacing that money from somewhere. The question is where?

🚨 BREAKING: The House of Representatives has just PASSED a bill requiring AUTOMATIC deportation of illegals who commit welfare fraud, 231-186 🔥 This is a NO BRAINER! But of course, 186 Democrats voted AGAINST this. REMINDER: Democrats are NOT ON THE SIDE of Americans. The fraud encompassed in this bill includes: - Social Security fraud, - SNAP (food assistance) fraud, - Mail fraud, - Conspiracy to defraud the U.S., - Theft or bribery involving federal funds, - Identification document fraud, - And other similar crimes involving government funds or public benefits.

HOUSE: Speaker Mike Johnson cut a secret deal letting Democrats veto any GOP amendment. Tim Burchett's amendments to the BUILD America 250 Act were all killed on Democrat objection. Republicans control the House on paper. Democrats control it in practice. This is why Republicans will lose the House - why bother voting if even when they give the GOP the House, Senate, and White House they STILL allow Democrats to govern? h/t @timburchett
