It blows my mind how lazy people are. I see them mentioning @grok to fact check the most simple things, like whether or not somebody actually posted something on their socials. I know this is going to inadvertently trigger Grok into spinning up and answering me, but I’m making a point here. The same thing goes for queries on any AI platform. Why are we using orders of magnitude more power to do the most mundane tasks that could be completed using a normal search engine? We’ve got power plants working at capacity just so some teen mom can generate a picture of her and her child in the style of the Simpsons. I don’t think AI is just a trend- people will continue to misuse this God-like power to research and generate content until they are asked to pay for it one way or another. I wonder what percentage of AI tokens are spent on tasks that actually generate some sort of ROI compared to slop that means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Oh yeah, clear as day. Beside the internet itself, Napster was the most revolutionary thing I’d seen. Yeah Limewire & Kazaa took over and infected computers worldwide 😂😂😂 I used to try and download live songs and would have to let it download over the night. The majority of time I woke up and either the download had stopped or it was a different song than the time

Little Roll was changed watching Nine Inch Nails at Woodstock 94 on VHS. Just the lead up guitar and build up to them walking on stage covered in sh*t to play Terrible Lie. Coolest thing I ever saw. It’s surprising how the older I got the more terrible music I started to love.

We grew up in a beautiful period of time, man. Do you remember how access to music changed overnight through LimeWire, Warez, and Napster? I was like 10, building trackers and downloading every single song and album from my favorite artists. I used to just sit there and veg out to music whereas now I feel like I need constant stimulation in the form of information instead of art. I need to roll back my brain’s operating system.
