We made it through another April Fool's Day on social media. I'm proud of everyone. I think what's the most annoying is seeing content that you could tell was put together last minute. Just thrown together, "This would be fun! ..." Does this annoy other marketers?

@hedgequote It's been awesome. Last night in the Sox game, the Marlins catcher called for ABS on a potential ball 4. The Sox batter (who was also a catcher), knew it was a ball. So he just walked to first. It missed by 2 inches. 🤣

I've been around stuff that worked and stuff that didn't but I've never seen something that had a better debut than the Automated Ball Strike Challenge System. #MLB #ABS

@nicholosberry People do that? That's wild. The best I did was when I flew to Chicago for a baseball game and flew back in the same day. No bag or anything. Just my phone and wallet.

I aspire to be one of those people that checks a bag, and goes through the airport with just their wallet and a phone.

This is to my Insurance Agency Owner friends but it honestly applies to anyone no matter their industry. If you're not careful, you're going to end up losing business because you can't stop thinking about AI. For context, I admittedly left my day to day role with my agency that paid extremely well and had plenty of upside to build insurance tech. Let this read as a "I've been there" type of message. AI is real and it's growing fast. ChatGPT launched less than 4 years ago. I open X most mornings and hear about "XYZ" industry being killed by Claude's newest release. I am seeing a lot of Agency Owners saying that they're maxing out their Claude tokens (now, that's a lot easier today than it was 2 weeks ago but that's a different convo 😅) Let me be clear... If you're maxing out your Claude Tokens and still crushing your agency life. This isn't for you. If you're maxing out your Claude Tokens AND your agency priorities are dipping then this is for you. AI will change the future of Insurance. It will also change the future of what Independent Insurance Agencies look like. That being said, AI is a tool in your belt. You should work to develop your skillset with your tools. When this comes to AI, sprinkle it in. Learn something new every day. But don't let the tool become the distraction. The agencies that win over the next 5 years won't be the ones who knew most about AI. They'll be the ones who stay focused on the foundation that they've built, what they've always been good at and those who add the right tools at the right time. At the end of the day, stay curious but don't allow yourself to drown in what's new.

It's okay to celebrate holidays on social media ... but don't add to the noise. Create something unique that points back to what your company is about. Core values is a good one. That is all. #MemeMonday

I had someone on LinkedIn reach out to me and say, "Hey, you have time for a quick cup of coffee?" Sales folks are wild. I will give this person credit, they connected with me about a week ago and waited til today to message me. Also that's an automatic un-connect.

Except when you post social content created by AI. That can be spotted from a mile away.

Social content without a strategy is useless. Plan, create, execute. Posting once a month will not get you leads. Consistency and being intentional will. Enjoy your week. #MemeMonday #Marketing

Call me old fashioned, but I value original content on social media. Social media has allowed for pockets to form on the internet. As a result, a content creator can copy (verbatim) someone else's content and post it as their own. Be original, stand out. #MemeMonday

On this episode of #insurance in the movies ... Garden State (2004) An instance of a carrier mitigating risk. I don't know if this is common or not for folks with epilepsy. That person then feeling trapped by insurance. "What can I do? The insurance is good."
