There goes buoy 45176! This one is positioned 3.5 miles offshore near the intake for our Morgan treatment plant. Buoy 45169 is positioned 15 miles offshore. They both monitor numerous water quality and meteorological conditions in #LakeErie.

What’s the deal with the smart yellow buoys?
The vision is to have a robust network of them out on Lake Erie, providing real-time data so that we can not just react to, but PREDICT threats like harmful algal blooms.
