The term soil carbon capture feels weird. We're taking this beautiful intricate living system and reducing it to a single process, engineered machine. Seems a similar mentality to how we approached food production for decades.

In case you didn't know, people bury tighty whities to measure soil health-- the more they decompose, the healthier the soil. The elastic helps to find the, er, remains. #SoilHealth #Undies

Last year we buried over 2000 pieces of underwear and 12000 teabags with 1000 volunteers to estimate soil health. This Wednesday first results will be presented. We found thousands of microbial taxa and results point to the importance of land use and soil carbon. @SFranzBender1
