when you're just starting out writing, you're concerned about all these rules you should follow: have THIS number of fight scenes, THIS style of pacing, etc. etc. then you get a few books and realize there's only one rule you truly need to follow: Do NOT look at the Hellcube.

@GuidoFawkes Wealth is taxed when it’s transferred. It’s taxed when it’s transferred to me as income, and taxed again when I buy something at the store, and again when it’s transferred to the shop keeper as income. Their may be valid criticisms about inheritance tax, but this ain’t one.

If you think it is unjust to tax income that has already been taxed, which tax would you abolish?

@Aviation_Intel I believe it’s still true that the VLS missile system cannot be reloaded without returning to port. While having a single shot, unreloadable weapon isn’t as stupid as it sounds, it does demonstrate the design philosophy for fighting a “short, victorious war”

Need to change the way we look at all this. Some of that is happening, but not enough. DoD doesn't like to admit its faults and congress is unaccountable. But it's the most expensive lesson to learn in a conflict.

The U.S. is incredibly well equipped for fighting short high-end wars, but sustaining those efforts over longer terms, not so much. The enemy is fully aware of this.

@veteran_BP @endofanerajc Technically Accurate- but the National Union Party was essentially a temporary name change for the Republicans. Almost all the same people were involved. If Johnson hadn’t been a total POS, Republicans might be called this today.

@endofanerajc So you were prob a big fan of the WHIG party. They were definitely anti-slavery. They had success, but imploded leaving a void for the Republican Party(from Wisconsin). Fun fact: Lincoln was NOT the Republican Party Nominee in Election of 1864…

@Gnerphk @endofanerajc Some valid points, but Bush just happened to be in Office when the Soviets collapsed. His policies didn’t cause the collapse. Arguably Reagan’s had some effect- his overspending on the military caused the Soviets to follow and helped hasten their fall.
