To ask teachers to be on the front line of mass shootings, the front line of a pandemic, and the front line of the struggle against inequality all while underpaying them and systematically underfunding the education system is both cruel and a recipe for societal collapse.

Serious question for communications staff on Capitol Hill: Do you start from scratch or simply edit previous messaging in the aftermath of a school shooting?

If you use the death of a child to justify your views against a singular leader rather than inform your recollection of the systems that failed him to get to this point, you are not only disrespecting the life of that student but of the entire community. No words.
