No, it’s not normal. The entire reaction is predicated on his ego. He LITERALLY asked MLB to correct it. They did. And then he still whined. He legitimately was a snub. There’s no denying that and no one is really saying such. Snubs happen every year. Last year, Wheeler was selected and declined to pitch. So he “snubbed” MLB. Regardless, while he was snubbed this year and MLB has a dumb rule with those icing on Sunday (blame the players union) it’s egomaniacal to ask for something, get it, and then still insist it’s not good enough.

Zack Wheeler said the league approached him last night about being an All-Star replacement. He declined. He said he did not want to be the fifth choice and felt disrespected.
