Freedom is not free. Today we pause to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy, and we remember the families who live with that loss.

Predators are using code words on social media apps right now to find and share videos of child sexual abuse, and most parents have no idea. It was a full week for our office. We secured prison sentences for five individuals convicted of crimes against children. Celebrated Idaho's heritage and public lands at Liberty Grove in McCall for America250. This week I traveled to Washington, D.C. for a National Police Week roundtable at the White House with @DAGToddBlanche and @FBIDirectorKash. I was honored to represent Idaho’s law enforcement community, and to make the case for federal support in our fight against human trafficking and child exploitation. The Trump Administration was receptive, and I look forward to building on that conversation.

Grateful to participate in a Police Week roundtable today with @DAGToddBlanche at the White House with law enforcement leadership from around the country, including some of our great state Attorneys General to discuss the most successful crime fighting administration in United States history under President Trump. Great running into some of Idaho’s finest at the U.S. Capitol today. Deputies from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office were touring the People’s House.  I thanked them for their service was honored to show them the Speaker’s Balcony. Idaho is safer because of the men and women who put on the badge every day.

Idaho’s law enforcement officers are second to none. I’m grateful for the sacrifices they make to keep our communities safe. Today I’ll be meeting with Acting AG Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel in DC to discuss ways to better coordinate federal and local law enforcement efforts.

During National Police Week, I want to thank every law enforcement officer in Idaho for the work they do to keep our communities safe. It was great visiting with Valley County Sheriff Kevin Copperi in Cascade this week. Idaho’s sheriffs and officers put their lives on the line every day, and we are deeply grateful for their service.

There is no better place to reflect on Idaho’s heritage and celebrate 250 years of America than the shores of Payette Lake in McCall. Today, I joined my fellow members of the Land Board (Governor Little, Secretary McGrane, Controller Woolf and Superintendent Critchfield), along with Treasurer Ellsworth, state legislators and county officials in McCall for Liberty Grove, an America250 celebration honoring Idaho’s lands and planting trees for future generations to enjoy.

In honor of America's 250th birthday, the Idaho Department of Lands is planting trees at Payette Lake to celebrate our heritage and the freedoms that have made this country great. Protecting Idaho families from child predators is a top priority for my team and I. These sentences reflect the relentless work of our investigators, prosecutors, and the growing network of law enforcement partners across Idaho who share the goal of protecting kids from those who would exploit them.

Happy Mother’s Day to the incredible mothers across Idaho who pour themselves into their families every single day. I wouldn’t be here without my mom. She raised me on her own and sacrificed everything so I could have a better life. She taught me that hard work is the only shortcut worth taking. Whatever I’ve been able to accomplish, she made it possible. Happy Mother’s Day.

NEWS: My office is cracking down on HOAs charging illegal fees to Idaho homeowners. Idaho families work hard to buy a home, and they deserve to know every cost before they sign. Hidden fees collected without legal authority violate Idaho law, and we will hold HOAs and the companies that manage them accountable if they break that law.
