Nicola Sturgeon may be cleared of criminal wrongdoing, but she is not cleared of scrutiny. The Murrell plea deal raises obvious questions about who was protected from further embarrassment. There must be an inquiry.

The SNP has demanded inquiries into almost every institution in Scotland. It cannot now refuse scrutiny of itself. Peter Murrell has been convicted and jailed, but serious questions remain about governance, accountability and transparency at the heart of the SNP. There should be an independent inquiry into what happened, who knew what, and why the safeguards failed.

All too often, the most vulnerable in our society are failed because public sector officials or organisations withhold information or cover up failure. This is a cultural failing across the Scottish public sector, and it must be rooted out. It is now time we had a definitive Scots law relating to misconduct in public office.

We are on our third First Minister in three years and a certain MSP for Aberdeen is on manoeuvers to be the fourth. I don't think you can clean your hands of political instability.

The SNP must implement the court ruling now. After years of wasting taxpayers' money, losing in court and attacking the women who challenged them, ministers should stop looking for loopholes and start obeying the law. Women’s prisons are for women. The Supreme Court has ruled. The Court of Session has ruled. The argument is over. The SNP got this wrong. Craig Ferguson's achievement is extraordinary. The SNP should stop trying to piggyback on it. If this £400,000 was already earmarked for mental health spending, ministers have no business presenting it as a donation linked to Craig's fundraising effort. Kemi Badenoch is right. The problem is not just Keir Starmer - it's Labour.

The SNP can talk about progress all it likes, but these are the facts. Five years after Covid, Scotland is still carrying out 7.7% fewer planned operations than before the pandemic - more than 25,000 fewer procedures every year. On top of that, more than 30,000 operations have been cancelled at the last minute since 2021 because hospitals lacked the capacity to carry them out. Behind every one of those figures is a patient who has waited months, often years, for treatment, only to be let down at the eleventh hour. Patients are waiting too long, hospitals are under pressure, and too many people are paying the price for years of SNP mismanagement. Keir Starmer is a terrible Prime Minister. But the problem isn’t just Starmer. Labour MPs only want higher taxes to hand out more benefits, as the Welfare Secretary has pointed out. These are Labour’s choices and their values, regardless of who is running the party. We need to get Britain working again. We need the @Conservatives.

Kemi Badenoch is right. Reform is promising more spending, more giveaways and no credible way to pay for it. Conservatism is about enterprise, responsibility and sound finances. Britain needs serious government, not slogans.

Aberdeen South was a far more likely Conservative win than many suggested. 2024 had many Unionists backing Labour to beat the SNP in a Labour wave year. With the Conservatives the obvious challengers following 2026's Scotparl election the SNP were always in trouble.

Reform would not have won Makerfield even if every other party on the Right stood down. Meanwhile, in Aberdeen, the Conservatives took half the votes despite Reform being on the ballot paper. We united the city behind a genuine offer. Had I done a deal, our emphatic victory in Aberdeen would have been diminished. People would have sneered that we only won because Reform stepped aside.
