@FreeCADNews That's an 'old' feature now. Here is something new, which I did recently when I get bored at the topo naming merging thing. You can now select an edge/face/solid in sketch and get the intersection vertices/edges as external geometries.

@raddinox @FreeCADNews AFAIK, OCC's use of multithreading is not very efficient, and quite opaque to the caller. It would be better if they allow handling threading by the caller, that is, making sure the APIs can be called in parallel. Maybe they do. I haven't looked deep into that honestly.

it Looks like my Ryzen 9 3950x is a bit overkill for @FreeCADNews.. I was bored and tried to load a Step file of our machine we build at work. Can't share much details about the machine though, but the step file is ~175Mb. Seems like FreeCAD isn't multithreaded...

@raddinox @FreeCADNews OpenCasCade does use multithreading, but only for some isolated operations. There are multiple stages when loading a STEP file. OCC STEP reading (S) -> FreeCAD object population (S) -> OCC Meshing (M) -> Render caching (S).

@OficineRobotica @HollandsnieuweS @FreeCADNews Most part of the ConfigurationTables PR is already merged. Only part left is about syncing variant link with the source object. TopoNaming is still pending, though. I guess my expression completer PR will be landed soon.

Tip of the day. In @FreeCADNews #LinkStage3 the StartPage is highly customizable allowing even notes to be shown. Really handy feature. Customize the page appearance Edit->Preferences->Start Customize the thumbnail appearance Edit->Preferences->General->Document->Storage

09.22 #FreeCAD #LinkStage3 #LinkDaily Release Available. Linux and MacOS Conda LinkDaily user please update immediate. There is a mistake in building the 09.16 Daily branch making is practically the same as 09.11. Only Link and MacOS Conda Daily releases are affected.

2021.09.16 Release Available. Fixed a few serious bugs among others, especially some long standing ones in MacOS build. Mac users please try.

There is a serious bug in 2021.09.11 release, causing some PartDesign subtractive features to erratically changing to 'Additive'. Please do not use this release for modeling. I'll release a new one very soon. You can still try the UI features if you want.
