@DrJohnFrame Love your work, Dr Frame. But I will say that @DougVanDorn deals with this in his book "Waters Of Creation", which (at the risk of being subjective) is by far the most unique work on the subject.

The baptist reply to this argument is that the new covenant is very different from the old—the old based on physical birth, family, and nation, the new based on spiritual realities such as faith. But it is hard to find that sort of distinction in the Bible itself.

You answered my question with another question, but okay. Of course. His commitment to his marriages was horrible. BUT (and it's a big but); as a former military man I firmly believe Trump is the head of a very special long-term military operation to replace the New World Order and the old Financial guard with a new system which will finally level the playing field between nations. On account of that I take almost everything he says and does with a whole box of salt. Neither you nor I nor anyone else will be privy to the machinations of a special operation. You are at War. Stop trying to figure it all out. You won't.

@k_ovfefe2 This I agree with. He just needs to lay off the Jesus imagery. But zero problem with responding to the Pope in kind.

Communion between Christians and Muslims takes shape under the mantle of Our Lady of Africa. Here, in #Algeria, the maternal love of Lalla Meryem gathers everyone as children, within our rich diversity, in our shared aspiration for dignity, love, justice, and peace. In a world where division and wars sow pain and death, living in unity and peace is a compelling sign. #ApostolicJourney

Why is it blasphemous if it isn't Christ? What if it's the pope. A strong case can be made for that. Maybe we should stop calling Trump a blasphemer since absolutely none of us know what his true intentions are. It is 100% hearsay. I think this and you think that. So what. Do better.

It seems plausible that Trump posted that image thinking it was him portrayed as a doctor. Or even as some sort of spiritual healer but not knowing how strongly it implied he was Jesus. It doesn’t take away from the blasphemous nature of the image. And I don’t say this to say, “Nothing to see here folks.” Why is it plausible? Because I think Trump has a shallow understanding of Christianity. Remember when he said “Two Corinthians” instead of “Second Corinthians” when citing his favorite verse? As I recall it was prior to this that Trump was asked for a favorite verse and didn’t have one to state off the top of his head. Then, it seems to me, this was embarrassing and he tried to rectify it when someone sent him a verse and he later read it off as written and was so unfamiliar with Scripture that he didn’t know we say “second” instead of “two.” Now, some scholars will say “two” instead of “second” when reading such texts but it’s very uncommon and I doubt Trump was doing so because he was approaching it from a biblical scholarship perspective. My point is that he could easily not know that the imagery there was clearly consistent with hundreds of years of depictions of Jesus. Maybe I’m wrong and he meant to imply he was Jesus but it seems unlikely. It’s still evil and a reminder of what Nebuchadnezzar said right before he started eating grass. But it was likely ignorance and ego but not an intentional blasphemy. I wonder if Paula White sent it to him. I wouldn’t put such intentional blasphemy past her.

Oh my word, Matt. You are defending Ortland against Basham's accusations because he said so?!? I listened to his referenced lectures, and it took me all of 5 minutes to see she was precisely correct in her denunciation. And I assure you, I'm no Megan fan boy. I call her out all of the time for her fundi tendencies. But you have no idea what you're talking about. Cool your inferrential jets.

Appreciate this from Meg, but please keep in mind she has vociferously attacked Christian leaders (and accused them of being “shepherds for sale) specifically because they’ve been honest to one degree or another about exactly who this man was and is.
Megan Basham@megbasham

I don’t know if the President thought he was being funny or if he is under the influence of some substance or what possible explanation he could have for this OUTRAGEOUS blasphemy. But he needs to take this down immediately and ask for forgiveness from the American people and then from God.

I'm Papua New Guinean, so let me talk about my own country for a second. My country is not failing because of the "white man." My country is not failing because of some mythical systematic stranglehold keeping us down. My country is failing because we have deep-rooted corruption at every level of society and government - the same kind of corruption people are now waking up to in the U.S., except ours is even more blatant. Papua New Guinea is one of the most resource-rich nations on Earth. We have: ✅ Massive gold, copper, and nickel deposits ✅ Major oil and LNG/natural gas projects that drive much of the economy ✅ Strong agricultural exports including: ▶️ Coffee ▶️ Cocoa ▶️ Palm oil ▶️ Copra ▶️ Rubber Large fisheries and forestry sectors And yet despite all of that wealth, since independence in 1975 - when Australia formally granted PNG independence - our politicians have repeatedly sold this nation out for personal greed. Nobody forced them at gunpoint. Nobody made them rob their own people. Nobody made them loot public funds. Independence was handed to us on a golden platter. And what did our leadership do? They turned around and pillaged the country for themselves. WE ARE OUR OWN WORST ENEMIES. And this same pattern exists all over: ~ Africa ~ The Middle East ~ Parts of Asia ~ Latin America Too many nations are crippled less by outsiders and more by their own corrupt elites, tribalism, greed, incompetence, and refusal to build functioning institutions. Then millions from these broken countries move to the West carrying a built-in victim mentality - blaming everyone else for problems they never fixed at home. And when you see crime, violence, rape, gang activity, and lawlessness emerge in parts of the West from certain migrant populations, many of these individuals come from places where: ☑️ corruption is normal ☑️ violence is common ☑️ law enforcement is weak ☑️ and accountability barely exists You cannot import people from dysfunctional societies in mass numbers and expect zero cultural consequences. Harsh truth: Until people start taking responsibility for their own nations, cultures, and leadership... nothing changes.

Painted in our capitol rotunda since 1865: aoc.gov/explore-capito… Modern culture is the most ignorant of art history. When knowledge and wisdom of the past is cut off, you get a pig-ignorant populace thinking Trump using Christ as an allegory to heal the nation is somehow a scarlet letter. Keep pointing the finger at Trump little white-washed sepulchres... it doesn't make you one bit more righteous.

Here is the original post that is now being spread after President Trump’s Truth Social post. I don’t like either of them. NO ONE should portray themselves as Jesus. NO ONE. Trump should remove it immediately and apologize but I know he won’t. Sad to see.

Just so you know…some Christians are gullible. Trump is trolling the Pope who’s been highly critical of the war and ignorant of Bible prophecy about Persia. At the very least read the Book of Esther. Minutes before this over the top, AI generated, fan made meme, Trump called Pope Leo “weak on crime” and “terrible for foreign policy.” Trump has never claimed to be the Messiah or godlike. He has said quite the opposite that he didn’t know whether he merits being in Heaven, which is the correct posture for salvation. Outside of Christ’s intervention, we merit nothing but the curse, death and hell. This is Trump’s typical response when he’s offended and defiant against whoever he perceives as corrupt authority. Only days ago he memed “praise be to Allah.” He trolls everybody who’s his enemy and it seems to work. They are triggered and overreact. Calm down. He’s not a theologian and he’s not sending metaphysical religious messages. He’s making deals. He’s saying he’s done more to help average people than Leo has and Trump claims there wouldn’t even be an American pope at the Vatican if he weren’t the elected president, which likely has merit. For those who say, “Trolling is not an excuse,” I get it. Then why don’t you pray for him? We’ve been praying non stop continuously for over 2000 days as a church for America and her leaders. We comment about this bc we care about America’s success. To succeed, Americans have to repent and unite against the globalists. Divided you will not stand.
