(tapeworms) We have plants which live on other plants and never touch the ground. There's a fruit tree that grows around another tree, and eventually kills and replaces it. While our country is at war, our airports are a mess, DHS is not funded, and our elections are not secure, Lindsey Graham is wandering around Disney World with a bubble wand. This is an image that should live in infamy.

A lot of people are pointing out how it's weird for a childless old man to go to Disney World, and of course they're right. But the greater point here is that the SAVE Act is not passed, the problem at our airports is not fixed, our country is currently at war, meanwhile the Senate just went on vacation. They should all be forced to work every day, all day, until these crises have been handled. It's outrageous that these assholes are lounging at Disney World and leaving American citizens to deal with the problems they refuse to fix.

I was laid off from MicroProse in early 1993. I joined id Software and began working on Doom that summer. I created or reworked 20 of Doom’s levels. Just before Doom’s release I took a trip back to MicroProse, and showed them a pre-release version of Doom, so they could see what I’d been working on. They were so jealous. I really felt I’d landed on my feet. Later I heard that multiple games at Microsoft had been delayed up to 6 months because the devs “needed to research” i.e., play Doom.

Let’s summarize where we are after a 40+ day Democrat shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security. 1) ICE and CBP are funded, thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts and the foresight of President Trump and Republicans in Congress. 2) After holding DHS and the American people hostage for over 40 days, Dems got ZERO restrictions that would prevent ICE and CBP agents from doing their jobs safely. 3) Due to Dem obstruction of the appropriations process, ICE and CBP will get even more funding through budget reconciliation. 4) Dems have once again established themselves as the “Open Borders, Defund the Police” party heading into an election. 5) Dem leadership has proven once again they can’t be trusted to make a deal. Which begs the question if you’re a Dem senator or one of their left-wing supporters: What was this really all about?

Personally I think Republicans in DC are throwing the towel in on purpose because they don’t like President Trump. It’s the only answer that makes sense.

And the Senate didn’t go into full recess. Had they gone into a full recess, Trump, Trump could have begun filling vital administration positions. Thune and Cornyn blocked this.

We are happy with Speaker Mike Johnson. We are NOT happy with Senate Majority Leader Thune. The House is doing its job — the Senate is not doing its job.
