A Message to Our Anglers
A Reflection, an Apology, and a Promise for What’s Ahead
With 2025 drawing to a close, we would like to take in some perspective. We learned a lot this year, with numerous new updates and events and lessons, and also some moments of disappointment.
We really apologize for all this confusion and frustration and inconvenience this year. Your honest comments, meanwhile, reminded us of the role Real VR Fishing should always play: An enjoyable, authentic, realistic and immersive adventure that makes you happy every time you start to cast.
As we close out 2025, we’d like to share a transparent look at what happened this year — the challenges we faced, what we’ve learned, and how these lessons are shaping our final update of 2025 and our roadmap for 2026.
Looking Back Before Moving Forward
1. DLC Progression
Starting each DLC at max level removed the sense of growth that defines Real VR Fishing.
That was our mistake — DLCs should feel like a journey, not a shortcut.
2. Equipment Confusion
With over 20 new rods and reels, the equipment tab became cluttered and confusing.
We understand how frustrating this was and are rebuilding it into a clearer, easier system.
3. Frequent Bugs & Hotfixes
Regular updates introduced new content, but also recurring bugs and hotfixes.
We’ve identified the root causes and are restructuring our systems for lasting stability.
4. Platform & Tutorial Issues
Steam, Pico, and cross-play support didn’t meet expectations.
We’ve located the problems and are rebuilding these systems from the ground up.
Holiday Update (Dec 17-19)
The Final Major Update of 2025
1. DLC Level Reboot (Dec 17)
Anglers will soon be able to reset and re-progress through each DLC region — or keep their current level.
This update restores meaningful growth and achievement across every region, from Europe to Mexico.
2,. Fishing Championship (Beta – Dec 17)
The first Trout Championship will begin — short, global events held every three days.
It’s a first step toward a full Tournament and PvP system in 2026.
3. New Experience Update (Dec 19)
A new lineup of bright rods and reels will arrive, along with the debut of MR Fishing Mode — where players can fish within their real environment through Mixed Reality, enjoying a calm, immersive glimpse into the future of fishing.
2026: A New Era of Fishing
In 2026, Real VR Fishing will focus on strengthening the joy that fishing can bring —
through richer playstyles, deeper immersion, and more freedom in every cast.
1. Fly & Ice Fishing – A long-awaited new styles and mechanics that expand the fishing experience
2. Tournament System Expansion – structured global competitions and seasonal rankings
3. Selectable Fishing Points – Choose where and how you fish within each map
4. Customization – more ways to personalize your rods, lodges, and avatars
5. Fishing Buddy System – share your trips with new companions
And beyond these, something even bigger is quietly being built — a step we believe will redefine what VR fishing can be.
Our Promise
Thank you for supporting us on all levels. We know that there were frustrations this year, and we take great responsibility for times we let you down. We’ve certainly learned from them — and we’re focused on making 2026 that year, which we believe, the only year we can take — and that we will remember. Real VR Fishing will remain as immersive, connected, and fun as ever — and we’ll continue to craft experiences that will make every cast worth remembering.
