In peacetime, yes - more conventional working patterns are adopted in shipyards- but rarely 9-5 as there’s always a pressing deadline for the ship etc to be somewhere. In war situations, it’s 24x7. I know as family members involved in the readiness prep.

@DouglasCarswell Slightly different expectations. Israel’s theatre of operations is tiny compared to the UK with bases globally. We are stretched tbh. We should either do the same as Israel and reduce our geographic scope or balance the spending with the expectation.
