President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated 2.9km Dualised New Yenagoa City Road One linking Airport Road as part of the urban renewal programme of Governor Douye Diri to open up Yenagoa.

This morning, I participated in the maiden edition of the Yenagoa International 10km race, and, as usual, it was a great experience. This sporting initiative, already sanctioned by World Athletics, is part of our contribution to the development of sports in Nigeria and, in particular, Bayelsa State.
Great to cheer that aside runners from different states in Nigeria in the race, several participants from other countries are equally in Yenagoa for the road race. We are simply taking Bayelsa to the world and bringing the world to Bayelsa State.
Beyond the exciting moments, this race is huge for sports tourism in Bayelsa State and will, over time, provide a boost to the local economy.
This event is only possible because of the sustainable peace we are enjoying and this is due largely to our rewarding investment in security.
I say congratulations to all the winners and appreciate the global athletics body and the organisers for approving the race in Yenagoa. Bayelsa is again on the world map, this time through sports.

Today in Asaba, Delta State, I joined other leaders and South-South delegates of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, for the Zonal Congress, where we elected our new zonal executive committee members.
Let me appreciate our leader, the Senate President, Chief Godswill Akpabio, my Brother-Governors, members of the National Assembly for the renewed unity among the leaders and the strong resolve of the zone to ensure massive support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR in the 2027 general election.
Great thanks to our host, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for the hospitality.
Once again, I say congratulations to the 8-member Zonal Executive led by its National Vice Chairman, Chief Victor Giadom from Rivers State. Nua!

This morning as a family, we gathered for a solemn moment in remembrance of our late father, LayReader Abraham Joseph Michael Diri, at his graveside in Sampou, to once again pay him our respects, three years after his demise.
At the brief ceremony, we acknowledged the life of service he lived and the virtues of discipline, love, dignity and hard work that Papa instilled in us as children.
We will forever miss him. May his soul continue to rest in His bosom. Amen!
On behalf of our family, I would like to thank our friends, well-wishers, and top government officials who joined us for the remembrance. Nua!

Today, I presided over the first stakeholders' meeting of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), to chart a course for the party's growth and unity ahead of the next General Election.
I am pleased with the large attendance by key leaders and members, a sign of a new beginning and togetherness under my leadership.
I equally announced the decision of the National Executive Committee for the immediate past State Working Committee, to continue as members of the Caretaker Committee of the party in the State to guide the ongoing membership e-registration process.
On the occasion, the stakeholders through a motion well supported by all resolved to back and deliver our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for a second term in the 2027 Presidential Election.
I urged members to remain united and focused in our collective desire for a better Bayelsa where politics of violence and intimidation have become a thing of the past.
We later observed a minute silence in honour of one of our late leaders, Senator J. K. Brambaifa.

Today, I led members of my immediate and extended families to our annual thanksgiving at the St. Peter’s Anglican Church, in our community, Sampou, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
It was indeed a great time in the presence of God with my dear wives, brothers, sisters, our children and other family members. Truly, God has been good to the Diri’s family, hence, the need to appreciate Him for the unity, love and bond of togetherness amongst us.
Just as the men of God prayed, may Almighty continue to keep us in good health and sound mind.
I appreciate friends and well wishers who joined us in the thanksgiving, Nua!

This afternoon, I received my Brother-Governor of Rivers State, @SimFubaraKSC , and his entourage on a condolence visit over the passing of our Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Ph.D.
It is very thoughtful of Your Excellency to express your condolences to our government and the family of the deceased. This visit confirms the cordial working relationship and mutual understanding between our sister states.
I appreciate your words of consolation and thank you for acknowledging the service of my late Deputy Governor to the good people of Bayelsa State.
Just as I have said to others, Bayelsa State has lost a great soul, a truly workaholic and resourceful Deputy Governor who impacted many lives.
We pray to God to rest his soul.

The ongoing construction work on the Phase 1 of Akaba-Ogu-Okodi Road remains impressive. The road stretches through riverine Ogbia communities.
The phase 1 btw Akaba and Otuegwe 1 community in Ogbia LGA is 10km.
As at today, over 7 kilometres of the road has been asphalted.

It was historic today as Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, ESV Moses Teibowei witnessed the commencement of the launching of beams for the last phase of the bridge across River Nun.

Bayelsa-owned aircraft is here!
Today, history was made as we landed at the Bayelsa International Airport, Yenagoa, from Abuja on board one of our two newly acquired aircraft for its inaugural commercial flight.
I was joined on the maiden flight by the Honourable Minister of State Petroleum (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, Ph.D, Managing Director, NDDC, Chief Samuel Ogbuku, Ph.D, members of the National Assembly from the state, members of the State House of Assembly, elder statesmen, and other top government officials.
We are intentional about the economic development of our dear state and so, a daily flight operation to enhance movement into and out of Yenagoa, the state capital will now be sustained.
At the brief ceremony this morning and following a careful consultation in the full glare of key leaders and other citizens, it was unanimous that the aircraft is to be run under a Bayelsa name, details of which would be worked out by the relevant agencies.
Between the name “Air Bayelsa” or “Bayelsa Air”, the aircraft would be managed and operated by Pioneer Airlines owned by our son, a tested aviation expert, Captain Henry Ungbuku.
