Can the President Start a War Without Congressional approval? 🇺🇸 The United States Constitution is clear: Congress has the sole power to declare war (Article I). The President is Commander in Chief (Article II) meaning he runs the military once war is authorized, but does not have the constitutional authority to declare war on his own. For most of U.S. history from the War of 1812 through WWII Congress formally declared war before major conflicts. After WWII, presidents increasingly ordered military action without a declaration (Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, etc.). Vietnam was a massive catastrophe, and that chaos pushed Congress to pass the War Powers Resolution in 1973: • The President must consult with Congress before sending U.S. forces into hostilities (when possible). • The President must notify Congress within 48 hours of introducing troops into combat or imminent hostilities. • Military action must end within 60 days (with a possible 30-day withdrawal extension) unless Congress declares war or passes an authorization. • Congress can vote to authorize, limit, or terminate the military action. …but that law has rarely stopped unilateral strikes. Now, President Trump just launched military attacks on Iran including killing its Supreme Leader without a formal declaration or authorization from Congress. Lawmakers from both parties are demanding votes on war powers resolutions to rein in this action. So here’s the constitutional punchline: Did the Founders intend for one person to be able to take the nation to war, or did they intend that power to lie with the people’s representatives in Congress? That’s the debate we’re living right now and Congress has not yet acted to enforce its own constitutional authority. 🇺🇸

After 2020 Canada feels like living in 1984, a mix of high school level underdeveloped adults mixed with corporate HR, DEI and woke ideology. @RobertKennedyJc Omega-6 is only bad if in too high a ratio to omega-3. Walnuts, almonds, peanuts, etc contain omega-6 and are considered healthy fat. Seed oils are the new gluten.

Do you still use mayonnaise? Mayo used to be made with olive oil healthy, traditional, Mediterranean gold. Then Big Food switched to cheap seed oils loaded with inflammatory omega-6s. Now it's poisoning Americans, fueling obesity & chronic disease. Ditch the mayo! MAHA
