Can’t adults simply fall apart in peace without turning everything into a public mess?
You dated or married this person for years. You shared memories, built a life together, made promises, posted the happy moments, defended each other publicly, and called yourselves best friends or soulmates. Then somewhere along the line, life happened & you both fell apart.
Why does it now have to become a competition of exposing secrets, dragging each other online, leaking private conversations and intimate moments, telling one-sided stories just for public validation, and trying to destroy the other person’s image before strangers?
There should still be a level of maturity, dignity, and respect, even after things end, especially from the man who ought to be a leader.
At the end of the day, the internet will move on to the next trending issue, but the damage from publicly humiliating each other can last for years. Your children, your reputation, your family, and even your friends may forever be associated to the mess both of you brought online.
