While I do believe chasers should exercise extreme caution if chasing tomorrow, it’s good to remember it’s very rare for chasers to be impacted by straight line, fast moving tornadoes.
The majority of significant chaser impacts occur from DEVIANT tornadoes, sometimes slow moving (El Reno, Linwood EF2, Lewistown)
Chasers are constantly making predictions in their mind about the velocity of a tornado. The deadliest ones are the ones that contradict your predictions, causing you to lose situational awareness. It’s actually quite hard to get hit by a fast moving tornado if it’s heading directly for you. Unless you’re in Dixie, or it’s nighttime (see Rolling Fork)
