NEW: Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has set Tuesday, March 10th as the special election date to fill the seat of @RepMTG in Congress. Whoever wins will have to run again in the midterms at the end of the year.

BREAKING: the DeKalb School Board has accepted the resignation of superintendent Dr. Devon Horton. Horton is facing a federal indictment for allegations of taking kickbacks in his old Illinois school district.

TODAY: The CDC complex is still riddled with bullet holes. Officials said the gunman fired 500+ rounds total with some 200 bullets hitting CDC buildings. No one inside them was hurt.

NEW: Adriana Smith's family shared this with us today. They show her final moments on life support, and a tragic goodbye with her son Chase. Smith was pregnant but past Georgia's six week limit on abortions when she was declared brain dead. Dr's delivered her baby on Friday

Over the last few weeks, I have had many conversations with friends, supporters, and leaders across the country who encouraged me to run for the US Senate in 2026. I greatly appreciate their support and prayers for our family. After those discussions, I have decided that being on the ballot next year is not the right decision for me and my family. I spoke with President Trump and Senate leadership earlier today and expressed my commitment to work alongside them to ensure we have a strong Republican nominee who can win next November, and ultimately be a conservative voice in the US Senate who will put hardworking Georgians first. I am confident we will be united in that important effort, and I look forward to electing the next generation of leaders up and down the ballot here in the Peach State who will keep our state and nation headed in the right direction in 2026 and beyond.

BREAKING: Georgia's @GovKemp will not be running for US Senate in 2026. He was widely expected to challenge Sen. @ossoff but said today he won't seek the seat. "I have decided that being on the ballot next year is not the right decision for me and my family" said Kemps statement

Moore's team had sent out the following statement: "Senator Colton Moore, who exposed and defeated corrupt Fani Willis last year, has been arrested by the Anti-Trump Speaker of the Georgia House. Colton is being held in the same Atlanta jail as President Trump."

This will absolutely be appealed to the GA Supreme Court. For now, it looks like the case will go to the Prosecuting Attorney's Council of GA, the same body that declined to prosecute Lt. Gov. Burt Jones in the indictment

NEW: DA Fani Willis has been REMOVED from the indictment case against Donald Trump. The state appeals court abruptly made the decision this morning. They said the "appearance of impropriety" stemming from her relationship with a top prosecutor on the case "must be removed."

NEW: attorneys for Fulton County Jail inmates have filed a class action lawsuit against Sheriff Pat Labat and several corrections officers. The suit includes inmates who "suffered acute personal injuries, acute psychological suffering...or death."

Donald Trump's Georgia lawyers are motioning to have his case thrown out on their longtime argument: supremacy clause. They argue since a sitting president can't be tried for a crime, the case should be tossed.

After calls for her to step down as chair of the GA Dems, Rep. Nikema Williams has called for a meeting to "amend party bylaws to allow for a full-time paid chair position." Some in the party felt she spent too much time campaigning and not enough time fundraising.
