@polarfall Its probably credulous to think their similar sounding names and similar appearance on smaller screens is keeping people from noticing how good Vassel has been, but I still wonder about it.

@CelticsForum0 How does that hurt his trade value? Do you think teams thinking of trading for him didn't watch him play? "Oh well he got 50 against us and played great D, but did you see the media only voted him to 2nd team?"

Jaylen Brown missing out on first team is hilarious for many reasons, but ultimately hurts his trade value. And it comes at a terrible time, now that he's being actively shopped. Oh well, take what u can get for him and move on.

@podg_145 @dl0burna So the Wolves are not taking catch and shoot 3s, but the Thunder are? If that is the case - it isn't but if it is - then it is even more remarkable that the 3p% is close to identical. That would mean the Wolves have a better shooting team, contrary to your initial post

@Reasonable68 @dl0burna Ant kicks it to players like Randle, Ayo, and McDaniels who look to create off their own offense instead of a quick shot after the pass, SGA kicks it to players who make quicker decisions about shooting the ball like Caruso, Dort, Mccain, Joe, Hartenstein

@podg_145 @dl0burna Ant had 15 assists in 6 games. The other Wolves took 447 shots. Through 3 games, SGA had more than twice as many assists (33) and the other Thunder took fewer than half (212) as many shots as Min. These two are not comparable as playmakers.

@Reasonable68 @dl0burna Wolves outside of Ant shot 158 threes in 6 games making 32%, Thunder outside of SGA shot 137 at 36%, they take more threes on average than the wolves because of personnel and therefore the doubles getting sent at SGA and Ant create differing results in assists, situations matter

@podg_145 @dl0burna The Thunder shot 33/18% and he still had 7 assists, more than Ant's best game against SAS. Try again. The difference between 6-7 and 8-9 APG can easily be teammates. The difference between 2 and 10 is not teammates. BTW, Wolves shot 34% from 3 for the series, OKC is at 35% now

@gWizard_5 @dl0burna In terms of what? For all the Wolves fan sentiment that OKC is a much better shooting team, in the regular season, these two teams made exactly the same number of 3s per game. 13.8 (Wolves took .5 3PA fewer). OKC is 34.8% in this series, Wolves were 33.7% v SAS w/out DDV.

@dl0burna Not tonight maybe, but definitely in the first three games. I think its telling that on a night when his team shot under 20% from 3 and under 35% from 2, he still had 7 assists and drew a ton of fouls. Not sure he has any peer among guards.

@jaycaspiankang Game could have gone very differently without a few of the baskets he got in the first half. Really helped them hold the lead in the Kornet minutes

Whatever the spurs are doing to identify dogs is remarkable. Harper and Castle are one thing but Devin Vassell looks like one of the best playoff players in the league right now. Zero fear.

@TwolvesBlog Bryant went right back in and made a few more mistakes. Then Mitch pulled him. He did not make many mistakes tonight, but sending Bryant back in was one of them. (His faith in Kornet in the first half OTOH really paid off in rest for Victor).

@famouslos32 No landing space? When SGA's feet touched down, Fox's feet were more than a foot away from them.

@dennissports5 @dl0burna And 8 fewer assists, far fewer fouls drawn, inferior defense etc. But if you want to claim injuries for Ant, a reasonable claim, look at Ant last year against another excellent defense, he averaged 23 on 17 FGA with 4.5 assists. SGA is better. Ant is great, SGA is better.

@jasonmgood @JaceFrederick You have a list of 5 criteria, only one of which applies to Russ and you wonder why someone would take issue with a response to that list of 5 by saying "its like 10 Russes?"

@JWeinbachNBA Like the Nuggets were going to be in 2023? When Den won the title, their top 4 were 27 (Jokic and Gordon), 25 (Murray) and 24 (MPJ). No significant player was 30 or older. OKC has two 27 yr old starters (SGA and IHart) a 24 (JWill) and a 23 (Chet). Only Caruso is over 30.

Other contending teams in the West may have to be ultra aggressive on the trade market if they are going to reach the same level as OKC and San Antonio next season. The Thunder and Spurs will be at the top of the West for years to come.

@daskarov @JaceFrederick Everyone can shoot? OKC just shot 33/18% and SAS 39/27%. The second two things you mentioned are what separate these teams from anyone else. Like the Wolves, Thunder have been unable to score in the first 6 minutes of these games. Unike the Wolves, OKC doesn't quit.

@JaceFrederick And when either team struggles, they double down on defense instead of trying to force all offense lineups. Lots of lessons for the Wolves to learn.

@krishcoughran And imagine if they had the worst record like Detroit did. Attributing getting Wemby to anything other than blind luck is confirmation bias.

The Spurs had the 2nd worst record in the NBA the season before they landed the #1 pick for Wemby. I wonder what their winning culture would look like if they had won a bunch of meaningless games and finished tied for the fifth worst record rather than the 2nd worst, and picked 7th rather than 1st? People just don't understand how dumb the Kings are and the stupid ethical tanking crap.
