One of my greatest regrets in life was letting the teachers in my secondary school convince us that Art class was for dullards and science class for the smartest students. I was excellent at debates, loved words and really wanted to be lawyer but they wouldn’t let me. They made that choice for me before I understood what it meant. I’m pretty sure this was a moment that altered the trajectory of the lives of so many Nigerian kids.

Most businesses don’t fail because their message is weak. They fail because they’re talking to the wrong audience. Right words, wrong ears. Before your next campaign, ask yourself, who exactly are you speaking to?

A few weeks ago, I was on my way out of Gabi when I suddenly spotted our former Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo. In that moment, I completely forgot composure. I threw away “posh” and ran after him! He had already stepped into the elevator before I could reach him, but I didn’t give up. I followed, and that little chase led me all the way to the streets of New York, just as he was about to get into his vehicle. There are very few people I would ever “lose myself” for and Professor Osinbajo is one of them. There’s a certain grace upon him that can be felt calm, steady, and deeply inspiring. Being close to him, even for a few moments, felt like tapping into a direct source of grace. Yes, he is an exceptionally brilliant man... but beyond the intellect, what truly stands out for me is the grace on his life and his calm power. Because sometimes, grace will take you where intelligence alone never can. I remain grateful for those few minutes of simple, genuine, and relaxed conversation. It may have been brief, but I walked away with something priceless a quiet inspiration that still lingers. #unstoppable #unstoppableafrica #gabi

You know the worst feeling? Walking up to someone important at an event — a CEO, a minister, a decision-maker — and instantly feeling like you’re being awkward or pushy. Here’s the trick I’ve learned: Don’t go in to impress. Go in to connect. Instead of launching into your pitch right away, start with something human. A comment on the panel they just spoke on, a genuine question about their work, even just a simple “Hi, I’ve been looking forward to meeting you.” The goal isn’t to dump information. The goal is to spark a moment of trust. Because when people feel seen, they remember you. And if you really want to stand out? Be clear, be brief, and leave them curious enough to want the follow-up. That’s how you leave an impression — without being overbearing. #NetworkingTips #CareerGrowth #Leadership #BusinessNetworking #ProfessionalGrowth #PersonalBranding #Networking101 #BuildingTrust #LeadershipDevelopment #CareerAdvice
