To continue our series of role emerging placement posts, @RebR333 and Georgie are at Hill Holt Wood on their placement. A social enterprise; it focuses on changing people's lives within a sustainable, environmental setting.

@trashalou @Liz_ORiordan Once they are over a year old though you don’t feed them with the same frequency, maybe a couple of times a day when they are around 2? I agree with you that women need more practical support to breastfeed, it is really hard when it’s just down to you.

@RebR333 @Liz_ORiordan Because so many women are busy trying to keep everything else afloat, drop baby at nursery at 0730, work an 8 hr day, feed family, bedtime routine, household paperwork, housework. As we know breastfeeding takes time, energy and space. Society in the UK does not value mothering.

The truth about breast-feeding and breast cancer Is it true that 1 in 20 breast cancers could be prevented by breast feeding? This was a statement lifted from the Lancet Breast Cancer Commission Report published yesterday - but it’s a global estimate that assumes EVERY woman in EVERY country has an average of 6 children and breastfeeds them for 1-2 years. The facts - breastfeeding one child for 12 months reduces your lifetime risk of breast cancer by 4% That’s a drop from 17% to 16.4% - so the actual impact is small. The Report wants to increase breast-feeding education and support globally as en masse this will reduce the numbers of breast cancer - but you don’t need to feel guilty if you didn’t breastfeed for that long or didn’t have children If you want to find out your own individual risk of breast cancer, check out the iPrevent tool - iprevent.net.au Thanks to @CuiWanda @TheLancet @BreastCancerNow

This is how it should be for trees. Such a huge asset to our environment and deserving of protection. Where I live oak, sycamore and elder have been felled as houses have been built too close to them and of course, eventually the trees impact the houses.
Jeremy Barrell@JeremyDBarrell

Great example of passive veteran tree retention by the National Trust at Dunster Castle, Somerset. It is an old Holm oak (Quercus ilex) about 150+ years old, with an impressive trunk and root structure, making it a valuable emerging heritage asset.

@DrNeenaJha @trishgreenhalgh I thought GP surgeries were effectively private businesses run by the GP Partners? If so, the GPs running the practice make the decisions on the staff. This needs to be taken up with your professional body, who is standing up for patients in all this?

“We’re creating PAs to support NOT replace GPs” IS A COMPLETE LIE! The practice I locum in have now replaced me with a PA 😞 I’ve been a GP for 10 years & can’t get work?! My GP colleagues CANNOT GET work! We ARE being replaced, by significantly less qualified people?!

@StudentOTs OT brings a different view of health and well-being, prioritises occupation and looks holistically at multiple factors around an individual. An OTs choice of outcome measures would therefore be different and benefit research through person centred practice.
