I have just had the worst shift in 8 years. So many worried people. The diagnostic uncertainty for this IS SO BLOODY HARD. People sitting outside as no room. The lack of clarity over prophylaxis - and no provision for kids under 12 to get it. (They took our cipro stock away cos now a local UKHSA hub) Why is there no “plan ready to go on the shelf”? Again. Did nothing get learned from Covid? Seems not. It’s a fucking disgrace. And we have to manage and keep people safe and make it up as we go to do so.

In his justification he goes on about tech, primary care, digital transformation, neighbourhood health etc. None of which will impact meaningfully on those with the most severe mental illness You either prioritise neglected mental healthcare…or you don’t 🤷🏽‍♂️

A huge regret is that the nhs still allows INAPROPRIATE out of area placements to hospitals far from home. Some areas have almost eradicated by investing and transforming locally. It is an abhorrent, unsafe practice that severs local links, costs families a fortune in travelling
