Miss Taylor Reception

This year, our Croxteth Extravaganza is going to be bigger than ever before! All children in Reception - Year 6 will perform at The Liverpool Lighthouse. This will give all children the opportunity to experience performing in a theatre, in front of an audience.

We have had such fun learning all about our local area and the fantastic city we live in. We used iPads to look at an aerial view on google earth and used all of our knowledge to create our own maps 🌎🗺️ @CroxtethC @ReceptionP_CCPS

Reception had a fun afternoon taste testing lots of different vegetables to see which ones we should put into our special soup for Supertato. There were some funny faces pulled! 😝 We decided that we quite liked the sweet potato and the beetroot 😋@CroxtethC @ReceptionP_CCPS

Thank goodness! Just in time, Supertato does what he does best and saves the day! The veggies are free and the Evil Pea is going back to the freezer where he belongs 🙌@suehendra @PaulLinnet @ReceptionP_CCPS @CroxtethC

After discovering that the Evil Pea had been causing more trouble in class today, Reception decided to take matters into their own hands and train up to become superheroes and rescue the captured veggies. So much fantastic imaginative role play! 🦸‍♂️ @ReceptionP_CCPS @CroxtethC

Oh my goodness! There has been a terrible crime committed on bank holiday Monday! The Evil Pea has captured the fruit and vegetables! Who can save them?! @suehendra @PaulLinnet @ReceptionP_CCPS @CroxtethC

Our first week back has been full of flowers🌺🌸🌼 We have really enjoyed reading The Extraordinary Gardener by Sam Boughton and creating beautiful floral paintings. We also made paper flowers to sell in our garden shop 💐@CroxtethC @ReceptionP_CCPS

Reception have been learning how to double this week in maths. We know that doubling means two of the same amount. We have had fun doubling the spots of the ladybirds and butterflies and journalling this in our books with number sentences to match! @CroxtethC @ReceptionP_CCPS

What a fantastic first week back for Reception! Miss Pearn and I have been blown away by how hard the children have worked this week. We have been learning all about Spring and have found some amazing minibeasts in our outdoor area 🪲🐞@CroxtethC @ReceptionP_CCPS

Reception absolutely love our new tree swings! We’ve been perfecting our turn taking skills and learning how to take manageable risks 🌳🛞🌟@ReceptionT_CCPS @CroxtethC

Reception had a lovely surprise from @MerseyFire yesterday! We loved learning about how the fire service help us and really enjoyed looking at the equipment and even spraying Miss Taylor with the hose! 🚒 thank you so much! @CroxtethC @ReceptionP_CCPS
