@ReckAva Aw that’s cute about your dad. My dad is also Dr King, but there are a lot of female kings out their w doctorates 😆 I get the length thing! I’ve been thinking abt going by King but putting H-K on publications. It’s definitely an oddly complicated decision !

I've seen this discussed before but...I recently got married & now have a hyphenated name. I'm a PhD student w 4 pprs & 7 conf presis under née King. W multiple abstracts due soon, trying to decide whether to switch to my new name for pubs. Insight from other women or queer folx?

@VElizabeth_King My dad is a Dr. Reck, and I liked the idea of being the first female Dr.Reck! Plus I felt like my full last name would be too long to go by professionally, although I’m not sure if that is true
