There were a lot of people at the UKIP religious rally in Liverpool yesterday claiming they were there to 'document the day', but it was clear that some were aligned with far-right narratives around migration, Islam and asylum seekers. I spoke to one person, Cozzy, who had travelled from Manchester to 'document' the event. When I mentioned that Jesus was a refugee, he didn’t seem to appreciate it and accused me of trying to “trap” him in the conversation. No trap. On Thursday December 4, 2025, Texas’ new “bathroom bill”, Senate Bill 8, officially went into effect, banning transgender people from using multi-stall restrooms and other public facilities in schools and government buildings that match their gender identity.

I waited two years to speak publicly about the misogynoir I experienced in the police, and campaigned for another two before they apologised to me - publicly, on national television.
