Like a lot of startups, we were caught in the SVB mess—not knowing how we'd make payroll or pay the vendors we need to continue to build houses for our homebuyers in the Triangle and Charlotte. Luckily a few of our investors @khoslaventures @sama @stevepagliuca @RedAppleGroup_ stepped up almost immediately to let us know we could count on them until everything got figured out. We were ready to take out a loan to ensure that payroll went through this week and to continue building our projects, when we heard the news from the Fed. We were finally able to take out our funds last night and are moving forward with no disruption to our employees, homebuyers, and partners. We feel incredibly fortunate for the investors we have, who were ready to step in how we needed them—financially and with advice. We are also grateful for our team members who worked tirelessly over the weekend to ensure we had all lost ends covered. Now we go back to building peoples’ homes!
