I get that Texas Tech fans think the "they hate us because they ain't us" stuff is fun right now, but the entire program is acting like Eric Cartman on Maury Povich... and I don't think they're ready for this level of blowback to drag on for a decade.

The UT athletes were all ruled eligible by the NCAA. Let’s be very clear.
Sorsby is still considered ineligible by the NCAA. The judge said the NCAA isn’t allowed to do that. That doesn’t mean he’s eligible.

It’s clear that Brendan Sorsby has a gambling problem.
And I’m glad that with all it has invested into Sorsby, Texas Tech is providing him support.
But you CANNOT bet on your OWN games or OWN team.

He "sought help" after he got caught, in furtherance of manufacturing a legal defense to avoid consequences.
Abusing recovery narrative like this is a slap in the face to those out there truly suffering from addiction and struggling to better themselves.

Great post, and this is part is absolutely spot on! “There is a difference between defending the person and defending the mistake. Texas Tech is in an impossible spot. Deep down, they may have hoped the final ruling would remove the decision from their hands. Exhaust every option, support the player, let the process play out, and if he is ruled ineligible, accept it. That is the cleanest outcome for a program trying to balance loyalty, discipline, public pressure, and competitive integrity.”
