Royal Westmoreland is a luxurious experience. No two holes the same, some heroic moments and always a chance of recovering from a modest previous shot with something spectacular. And a few aesthetic highs.

Delayed post about a fantastic weekend at @Murrayshall Junior’s first round in Scotland, sensational cullen skink & superb accommodation among the highlights. It’s markedly improved since my first visit & is going to get even better. Will rise in 2025 GB&I Top 100 Resorts…

@NCG_com Double the size of the hole to reduce the amount of time it takes to play.

It can be crazy and random or sensible and realistic, but what rule would you add to golf? ⛳️

The most significant difference between scratch golfers and high handicappers is iron play. How well you hit your irons plays a massive role in determining how good of a golfer you are overall. There's a noticeable gap in iron play quality between scratch players and higher handicaps. When it comes to traditional stats, greens in regulation is the key metric I'd recommend focusing on. The more greens you hit, the lower your handicap will go. Now, let’s break down the distances where different skill levels hit the green around 50% of the time from the fairway: 20 handicap: ~92 yards 15 handicap: ~110 yards 10 handicap: ~129 yards 5 handicap: ~147 yards Scratch golfer: ~165 yards Tour pro: ~205 yards While these numbers come from various situations, remember that factors like wind, green size, and elevation changes can impact performance. The difference in skill levels is clear. Want to lower your handicap? Focus on improving your iron play! Data from @ArccosGolf (Use code DATALOU15 to save 15%)

@LouStagner As a woman golfer playing off the reds, I struggle to reach two of our par 4’s in 2 unless the course is dry as a bone and the balls rolling. Not sure what tees you think I should move up to 🤷‍♀️

If you NEVER have a chance to hit a par 5 in two... You are playing tees that are too long for you. Move up. ⛳️⛳️⛳️

Want to know what a nice person Lydia Ko is? In Jan. 2014 I was in her group for the first Pro-Am she played as an @LPGA member. A couple days later I got this note. She was 16 at the time. A special person!
