ActBlue has faced scrutiny for its donor verification processes, which some argue may permit illegal contributions and foreign money to flow into American political campaigns. In recent years, the platform has been penalized for facilitating nearly $44,000 in illegal contributions and has been called out for not requiring standard security measures like CVV numbers for online donations.
