@lizatliz And Black voters are pretty pragmatic. They won’t back anyone if they don’t think they can win the general. Even with Biden 2020, he had to give a few solid speeches in-state before they backed him. They needed to see the Old Joe from the Obama days before they were convinced.

This is what I’ve been saying. There is absolutely zero evidence of support for harris among the older white voters who shored up the Biden/clinton coalition. Every white boomer I talk to says ‘she had her turn’. I think Pete’s strength among this demo is pretty underestimated.

Ossoff -- unlike Harris -- is a much better candidate now. My larger point is that Shapiro or Ossoff will dominate white moderates (a key part of Biden's winning coalition). You can't win a Dem primary with Black voters alone. Jesse Jackson had a broader coalition.

@lizatliz She isn’t my first choice. I don’t like repeat nominees and have some issues with her last two campaigns. But I want to be convinced whoever it is can win the general. If it’s against Vance, I think she probably could. Rubio and all bets are off.

@lizatliz I think it depends on what happens in other primaries. They backed Biden to stop Bernie. If they had consolidated behind any of the younger not-Bidens, I think they would have gotten a much harder look in South Carolina.
