Terri Harrison condemns the lack of a longitudinal study on the health of those who suffered "medical negligence" in the mother and baby homes. "My state has made me invisible, and I include my son in that too."

"One thing the Commission got right: where are the rest of the children? We know they died, but we don't know where they are. All the focus is on Tuam." "If they were truly interested in justice, it would be justice for all, not justice for some, says Mary.

"The church and the state profited enormously from this system," Cairns says. Cairns says Government needs to go after religious orders for money, but that it "does not want to, so they will not".

Anyone in a mother and baby home not covered by the Commission, any child born in an institution but didn't remain for six months, any person fostered or 'boarded out' is not included in scheme. 24,000 survivors are excluded from the scheme. thejournal.ie/mother-and-bab…

Cairns says she could "walk into the Dáil and set [myself] on fire and they wouldn't notice. It's when something has public support behind it, that's when they notice." "The Government has consistently underestimated the level" of dissatisfaction with proposed redress.

Speaking about the Redress Bill, Soc Dem TD, says "legislation is based on very flawed report". "We still have another week on our hands where we can continue to fight this legislation." Dáil debate on Wednesday. Calls the bill a "pathetic excuse of a redress scheme".

Redacted Lives: In Conversation is underway here at the Pearse Centre. Moderator Sinéad O'Carroll is joined by Mary Harney and Terri Harrison, who told their stories on the podcast, TD Holly Cairns, and Redacted Lives host Órla Ryan.

"When the news came out that audio testimony of survivors had been deleted without their consent, I was angry. I wanted a new way to tell this story," says Órla Ryan of her decision to start the podcast. Notes the value of hearing survivors tell their stories in their own words.

Harney says she was denied her information based on a misrepresentation of GDPR. Says she has been seeking this information for 21 years. "Where are the children buried?" We have a right under international law to know this." Accuses Minister Roderic O'Gorman of "cloth ears".
