A British citizenship ceremony - repeat a few words, sing a few lines of the National Anthem and abracadabra - you’re British! It doesn’t have to be this way. But obviously they’ve chosen to make it this way. Other European countries have much stricter rules on citizenship. Whereas our rules are so lax, it doesn’t take much to qualify, and the whole process is wide open to abuse.
