In 1844 one of France’s most well-known and popular books was published in serial format. Les Trois Mousquetaires, better known in the Anglophone world as The Three Musketeers, was written by the French novelist Alexandre Dumas. Based in the 1620s during the reign of King Louis XIII of France, it tells the story of a young man named D’Artagnan after he leaves his small town home in Gascony to head to Paris. There he aspires to join the king’s guard, the musketeers. However, while training, he is befriended by three established musketeers, Athos, Porthos, and Aramis. Together the four embark on a series of adventures based mainly on political machinations around Anglo-French relations and the activities of Cardinal Richelieu, the most powerful politician in France at the time. The story of D’Artagnan and the three musketeers is very well-known and has been adapted into a wide array of popular formats down to the present day, including, somewhat bizarrely, a cartoon where all the characters are dogs and the main character is called Dogtanian. But what’s often overlooked in the discussion of Dumas’s classic novel is that it was based on historical events of the 1620s, and D’Artagnan was actually a real person. Learn more: bit.ly/4q94HXU

@Top100Rick Ive always thought that massage balls in the shoulder straps and where the bag rests against the lower back would benefit us older golfers.

What do you guys think of a tech-enabled golf bag strap? Stitch and Bushnell have unveiled a $250 bag strap. Built in is a digital screen GPS and a Bluetooth speaker. If you are the type to use a speaker and gps anyway, it actually makes sense. One thing is for sure, golfers have money and love to spend it, so expect to see some at your course!

I won a bet with my girlfriend, my 'winnings' was a BJ every day for a month. Towards the end of the month it was becoming tiresome and painful. She insisted as "a bet is a bet". Put me right off. I wonder if that was her plan all along.
