@JeffRose8 @normunds_k @kaitlancollins So even from GPT where you don't show your question. It disagrees with what you said. No treaties were broken. Unlike the assurances we gave Ukraine when they gave up the Nuks.

From ChatGPT:
There was no legally binding treaty that explicitly prohibited NATO from expanding eastward, but there were diplomatic assurances given to Soviet and Russian leaders in the early 1990s. These assurances are often cited in debates over NATO enlargement and relations with Russia.
Key Discussions & Assurances:
1.1990 – U.S. and German Assurances to Gorbachev
•During negotiations on German reunification, U.S. Secretary of State James Baker told Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev that NATO would move “not one inch eastward” beyond Germany.
•German Chancellor Helmut Kohl and other Western leaders also reassured Gorbachev that NATO would not expand toward Soviet borders.
•However, these statements were part of oral discussions and were not included in a formal treaty.
2.1997 – NATO-Russia Founding Act
•NATO and Russia signed this agreement, which stated that NATO had “no intention, no plan, and no reason” to station nuclear weapons or large military forces in new member states.
•However, it did not prohibit NATO expansion, and it was not a legal ban on future enlargement.
3.Post-Cold War Expansion (1999-Present)
•Despite earlier discussions, NATO expanded eastward, admitting former Eastern Bloc countries, including Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic (1999), and later the Baltic states (2004).
•Russia has consistently viewed this as a betrayal of verbal assurances, though NATO argues that no formal commitment was ever made to prevent expansion.
Conclusion:
While Western officials did verbally indicate that NATO would not expand, no binding treaty was signed to enforce this. NATO maintains that each country has the sovereign right to choose its alliances, while Russia sees expansion as a security threat and a breach of diplomatic trust.

What just happened in the Oval Office was nothing short of remarkable. What began with questions about security guarantees for a ceasefire with Ukraine turned into an angry shouting match between Trump, Vance and Zelensky. Trump was fuming, ending with, “We have empowered you to be a tough guy…You either make a deal or we are out. You don’t have the cards.”

@GarretHohl Just for review...who was the front DMan on both Send goals...
English

@nhl_taylor Yeah, but the Byng is also about points as well. I think he has the TOI to perhaps be considered, but his production is horrible.
English

@mirtle Lol, ohhh and tell me the score in the Leafs game tonight?
English

@ask_aubry Is it weird that this person said "have some children.." like I have never met a mother who said oh I have "some kids" like they had lost count at some point.

Ville Heinola is an excellent measuring stick for gauging how others watch and understand hockey. He isn’t without his faults, but too many Jets fans saw a 6ft/180lb defenseman and decided his fate. He does a lot of things well, including this.
brady✈️🇨🇦@NHLChunky
heinola tying up players in front, doesn’t allow foligno to jump on the loose puck Logan Stanley, despite being 6’7, doesn’t do that.
English

@KPapetti Man, I knew the Leafs lived in the past, but I thought that was only in reference to their last SC, you know when there were only 6 teams in the league...

Massive mistake by the #Jets.
Scott Arniel is a loser. He’s been a loser his entire career. Got a chance years ago..his arrogance ruined everything..he’s spent the last 14 years with his nose up assholes & his lips wrapped around balls. #Loser
Darren Dreger@DarrenDreger
Scott Arniel is the new head coach of the @NHLJets. Winnipeg conducted interviews with top candidates although Arniel was considered a frontrunner going into the process. Arniel is well respected by the players and has earned another shot at being an NHL head coach. @TSNHockey

@spittinchiclets Man if I could get a dollar for every Leaf fan who says something along the lines of"..and who did they lose too.." I could afford the Rent in Toronto.

The last time the @sskroughriders won a playoff game vs the @Wpg_BlueBombers in #Winnipeg, I was playing(2003). @KentonKeith went off that game. Will they repeat that performance today? @CFLonTSN @cfl #PaperPlates

@mark51978393 @mikemcintyrewpg You didn't need to add the "fast teams" part.
English

I'll be stunned if he's not back in the lineup Wednesday in Detroit/
ArchieB@Archiebonker
@mikemcintyrewpg Time to bring up Hayden Fleury
English

@nhl_taylor I'm out by Destin now, we just got strong winds but nothing worrisome. Hope you and yours stay safe.
English

@zachschnitzer48 @RandyAmbrosie They should go the NHL route, instead of a just the yards it should be reviewed and if determined to be a major could then ejected. League administrative action may follow.
English

We need to deter intentional headshots on QBs. If you were the commissioner of the #CFL how would you punish QB headshots like Miles Brown’s on Collaros? #Bombers #Riders @RandyAmbrosie
