I do wonder what the long term plan at SS is for the Marlins Otto Lopez is a sticking plaster. Very good 2B, not so good SS Xavier Edwards the same.

@biasedsports420 @JustBB_Media I'm sure the guy with a career .238 ISO and nearly 200 HRs going on a binge is devil magic. He only hit 5 HR last year because he missed significant time with injury. (Only 101 PA fewest in a season since his cup of coffee in 2015.)

Gary Sánchez has hit 3 home runs in his first 11 AB's with the Brewers this season! He hit 5 home runs all of last season 😳

@subzero9985 @JustBB_Media Sanchez has hit double digit HR every year since 2016 outside of last year when he only played 101 PA due to injury. On pace for double digits had he played his normal 200-300 PA.

Birthright citizenship was the common law of the land in every single state long before the 14th Amendment. In fact, children of visitors were rule to be US citizens in 1844!

@ProjectLiberal Not that I disagree with the gist, but birthright citizenship only goes back to the 14th Amendment, which was ratified 158 years ago.

@ChristianHeiens Why did you leave out this portion of Howard's response to Cowan, who didn't vote for the ammendment.

According to Liberals and subversive Libertarians, it’s actually impossible for there to be any “persons born in the United States who are foreigners” because they think everyone born inside the boundaries of the US are automatically Americans, despite the fact that the 14th Amendment’s own authors literally went on the Congressional Record saying that the amendment does not apply to such people.

How fucking retarded do you have to be to believe that the original intent of the 14th amendment’s authors was for citizenship to be automatically granted to the children of tourists, illegals, and even enemy combatants who are being held on American soil? The man who wrote the amendment quite literally went on the Senate floor and publicly declared that it wouldn’t apply to foreigners or aliens.

And the First Amendment doesn’t apply to the internet and the Second Amendment doesn’t cover the AR-15. After all, the Framers never conceived of these things.

Reality: If Congress had known in 1868 that one day people from foreign countries could travel to the US while nine months pregnant — stay for a couple of days — and then return to a foreign country & retain US citizenship for life they would have unanimously rejected it.

The Supreme Court’s debate today: What did people who have been dead for 150 years intend for their law to mean for a modern situation they never conceived could ever occur?

Nor did he intend for over 1 million Chinese babies to be born in the USA, sent back to live in China to be raised as communist loyalists and still claim US citizenship. “Jurisdiction" implies legal, permanent domicile, rather than merely physical presence. So children of unauthorized individuals do not automatically gain citizenship. That’s the intention.

Something tells me that when Senator Jacob Howard wrote 'subject to the jurisdiction thereof' in the 14th amendment, his intention wasn't that pregnant Guatemalans could cross into Texas, give birth, and have a child with the same rights as you and I.

@harrydoyle_ @CodySan24524528 @evantpotter @Brewers It does. Matos is out of options and needs to be on the 40 man. Peralta was moved off the 50 man to make room. The Brewers are putting Matos on their 40 man roster thus not outrighting him. He's out options so can't be sent to the minors w/o outrighting him back off the 40 man.

@harrydoyle_ @CodySan24524528 @evantpotter @Brewers DFA'ing someone doesn't remove the options requirement. DFA'ing gives the team 10 days to trade, outright after passing through waivers, or release a player. Matos wasn't outrighted through waivers or released, so is put on the 40 man and subject to option requirements.
