A player makes a long pass towards a forward who is in an offside position. A defender also chases after the ball and kicks it first while running (limited contact with the ball in the air). A player illegally challenged an opponent close to the touchline and the reserve assistant referee’s position. The incident occurred out of the vision of the referee who is unsure if there was an offence. A defender who is a few metres from the winger instinctively stretches out their leg to block the pass. The ball deflects off the defender’s leg and goes to the forward who scores a goal.
