This is a clear penalty and a red card for DOGSO. If you want to talk about referees then talk… but don’t come to me about one incident only.

@RefereeSouth It’s taken you a while but quite frankly this season has seen some shocking unexplainable decisions that have made supporting the officials impossible- it really is a poor pool at the moment unfortunately

I’m generally what to support officials or look to justify and explain some reasoning or logic as to why a decision may have been given This past week has been some dark days for VAR and has set the whole system back, quite a few years. Fans never forget.

@spurscc Very much agree! Not a single person argues against this being give for hand. But once you’ve seen something, it’s hard to unsee it and that’s my justification for the officials unfortunately.

@RefereeSouth There is an argument, yes, but the far more palatable and less controversial decision is to disallow it. United expected it, forest expected it, no one would have moaned. Why opt for the decision that causes uproar when there’s a justifiable one everyone accepts?

Right… Everyone expects handball? Give what the game expects we are told. Eyes of the LOTG, there’s an argument that this isn’t a handball offence. If he scores directly from it, handball offence. Easy decision… right?

🤯 🚨The fact that an account like ArchivoVAR can post something like this says a lot about its level of credibility… and none of it is good. In the post they’re using carefully selected frames from an angle that makes it look like both legs are close to each other, when in reality Gavi is like a meter behind Isco at that moment. And calling it a clear penalty… It’s not just that it’s not a penalty… there isn’t even any contact. Isco only hits the ball and the grass. @RefereeSouth The whole tournament has become a bore!! No replay’s after the last qualifying round. Some of the best Cup ties where in replay’s Most games played on perfect playing surfaces reducing upsets. And in the last 10 years Chelsea or City in the final😴

@Stevemacdesign It used to be a whole day event! Starting in the morning and catching up on everything! Even the build up is bland now.

Yes apart from last year. It just used to be so much more meaningful, like birthdays when you are a kid

They aren’t grateful. Don’t ever let them tell you that they are. We are all aware of how the system works and you’ll be replaced as quick as you can snap your fingers and be forgotten about. Stay in the game and at the level you enjoy for as long as you can.

@WhistleBlowerDK Agreed, never a penalty. The way JP looks and complains about not getting it, shows exactly what players are wanting in the game these days. Every season, we are moving closer and closer to a non-contact sport.

I think this what some call “shutting the door”. You’re never getting a free kick/penalty for this.

@RefereeSouth Not when Wimbledon beat Liverpool. Ok. It was a rubbish game but the underdogs won.

@VicariousVillan Agree with that one! The problem with both games is, it’s generally a mix of City, Arsenal, Liverpool, United and Chelsea either playing each other, or one other club and we see it all season. 2008 the last time none of these clubs were involved, 1991 before that!
