Build One South Africa in Limpopo is calling for an urgent forensic investigation into the financial affairs and procurement processes of the Blouberg Local Municipality following the release of a voice recording allegedly linked to the mayor, #MariaThamaga. In the recording that is making rounds on social media, the mayor is purportedly heard telling another woman that she steals money and shares it with councillors to secure their support. BOSA Capricorn District leader Ngoako Setjie says the allegations, if proven true, point to a serious breach of public trust and a blatant violation of the principles of accountability and ethical governance. He has called for immediate transparency from the municipal leadership, including the release of relevant financial records to oversight bodies. RM
