🚨BREAKING: Ann Widdecombe was the victim of a targeted attack, says Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor, head of counter terrorism policing. He says police are working to understand the planning, preparation and motivation behind the attack. Officers have conducted "extensive searches" in connection with the investigation, he adds. He says police have a further warrant to detain the suspect, a 28-year-old white male, for up to seven days under the Terrorism Act. The suspect is being held on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism, as well as on suspicion of murder.
