It is a process of manipulation, psychological influence, and control of a vulnerable person for malicious purposes, whether sexual exploitation, criminal activity, or substance abuse. I am sharing this video because, regardless of whether the girl involved was 14, 15, or 16 years old, it raises a serious safeguarding concern: how does a teenager come to be under the influence of a significantly older adult in their late forties? That question alone demands scrutiny. Until the age of 18, parents do carry responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of their children. However, parental responsibility cannot replace the duty of law enforcement, child protection services, and political leadership to act swiftly and decisively when safeguarding risks are identified. This is not about identity, background, or politics. This is about child protection, equal enforcement of the law, and accountability. Silence from leadership is unacceptable when the safety of a young person is at stake. Children and vulnerable young adults must be safeguarded. Grooming must be confronted.
