We are having a by-election not because there’s any demand or need in the national interest but entirely to suit the convenience of the byzantine politics of the ruling party and the political pygmies in whose interest it is run. We are no longer a serious nation. No wonder the bond markets are squiffy.

Woman Sexually Assaulted On Train In Yorkshire. The incident took place at around 7pm on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, on the train service between Doncaster and Wakefield. According to police, the man followed the victim through the carriages before carrying out the sexual assault. It's reported he exited the train at Wakefield Westgate station. Police have released a CCTV image of the suspect they are urgently trying to trace. He is described as a young male of South Asian or Middle Eastern appearance, in casual clothing, with dark hair.
