Solid crowd here in Penticton in the Vees last game before the playoffs. We were here for opening night too, so few seats in the house.

The best line for the @Kelowna_Rockets was Ryan Oothoudt, Hayden Paupanekis and Dawson Gerwing in the opening period. Great looks and hard on the body. The Vees have a 1-0 lead after the opening period. Shots 11-9 Kelowna.

Congratulations to Bill Wilms, retiring after 25 years as part of the Vancouver Giants broadcasts. Also did three seasons (1995-98) of T-Birds broadcasts and many years of the WHL on Shaw TV.

Thanks to @JonKeenNLSports for pinch hitting for me tonight in Kamloops. I was with the team… unfortunately my voice wasn’t. My greatest fear as a broadcaster showed up - losing my voice. Zero talking between now and Friday when the team closes the season with Penticton. 🎙️

Bill was a colour analyst with me on my first Shaw TV broadcast. He was well versed in that medium, and I was raw in front of the camera. His professionalism and expertise made it easy. Congrats Bill on a terrific career.
