You guys have denied my medically necessary surgery. The last time you guys denied surgery for me it was to remove a tumor that had been causing pain and bleeding for over a year specifically because I am transgender according to YOUR LETTER which is illegal.

@WA_Health_Care since the HCA and Regence Blue Cross/Shield haven’t come to an agreement with Optum (and didn’t announce it until after open enrollment) will we be reopening the health care enrollment for Educators? Or do we need to start a class action lawsuit against both?

What the hell is going on with our health services and Insurance companies. Regence paid for 2 nerve ablation tests only to deny the actual procedure for me. My husband was approved for a prostate MRI but it took so long to get an appointment the approval expired and now that he has an appt. they are denying the MRI

Dear @RegenceWA, I went to my doctor because I can't take a full breath pain-free. I go to PT and it's helping.
Then my doc said we should do an MRI, and you claim it doesn't "meet medical necessity criteria."
I pay you <$24k/yr...why won't you let my doctor help me?

@RegenceWA Last month I submitted five claims for reimbursement of my child’s physical therapy, but they were returned because the snapshot I provided didn’t clearly show his name. I spent the last 30 minutes re‑submitting them, only to get a message that they were already submitted and then closed. I’ve called for help and haven’t received a callback. Still calling @RegenceWA ea week, trying to get reimbursed for the $1,050 I paid out before their denial was overturned 5 mos ago. There's a new excuse every week. And they have denied my next claim. For exactly the reasons that were previously overturned.

This is how dumb our healthcare system is, including @Regence who might be the dumbest of all.
Wife needed a $950 MRI for wrist pain to rule out Autoimmune issues.
Regence denied the procedure due to lack of medical necessity. In the denial, they claim six weeks of treatment is required before approving including “medication and other forms of therapy” which they go on to say Physical Therapy.
Physical therapy costs $125 per session, typically 2-3x per week. Initial evaluation is $300 minimum.
On the low end, that is $1,675 to avoid a $950 procedure. Regency is very dumb and financially illiterate.
Don’t tell me about deductible or coinsurance, it’s a wash between the two.
How do I know the economics of this?
I was CEO of the largest outpatient Physical Therapy group in Washington - I saw this all of the time and benefited from this odd behavior.
Btw I’m a business owner and decision maker, will be avoiding Regence due to this issue.

Regence, you can do better.
Despite submitting our renewal paperwork early, we got overcharged for two employees no longer on the plan.
Thankfully, Sarah at Alliant handled it, but if we fill out the forms, I expect them to be read and processed correctly. @RegenceWA
