𝗪𝗛𝗢 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗭𝗜𝗠𝗕𝗔𝗕𝗪𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗬?
Under Strive Masiyiwa, Nigel Chanakira and Shingi Mutasa the black empowerment millionaires who were empowered by the government between 1995 and 2010, the Zimbabwean economy shrank from $8.8 billion to $7 billion by 2010 while they got rich. There was no fuel, gold receipts dropped to as low as 4 tons in 2008‑09, infrastructure deteriorated and government became broke.
During the era in which Kuda Tagwirei and people like Obey Chimuka and Scott Sakupwanya took over the economy between 2010 and 2025, the economy grew from $7 billion to $53 billion. Kuda supplied fuel and ended fuel queues, he bought two banks that lent to government programs, government built its reserves to over $4 billion, Obey built roads and dams while Scott ensured gold receipts reached 37 tons.
Both eras operated under illegal western sanctions, but the difference is Kuda and his team bust sanctions and funded the fight against sanctions on the country, until they were removed in 2024. Which group served Zimbabwe better if we are to look at numbers and economic outcomes?
