The government needs to investigate what’s going on between @GovWhitmer and DTE. They keep raising rates month after month. Someone is getting kickbacks.

A whole life insurance policy for a healthy 30 year old costs $440 a month. A term life policy with the exact same $500,000 coverage costs $21 a month. That's a $419 difference every month. If you bought the term policy and invested that $419 difference into an S&P 500 index fund from age 30 to 65, you'd have over $1.6 million sitting in your account. And your family is still fully covered the entire time. Whole life insurance is a scam.

Depends on what the policy is needed for. If it’s just temporary coverage during income earning years and the family is pay check to paycheck - absolutely term. But if they have disposable income, are over contributing to 401k, want to minimize tax bills in retirement, have a way to borrow without approval - whole life policy with maxed out PUAs all the way.

Today I signed an executive directive to help Michigan businesses receive refunds for tariff costs. The president’s tariffs have jacked up costs and Michiganders have paid the price. The Supreme Court ruled that these tariffs are illegal. Michiganders deserve their money back.

Today’s Supreme Court ruling is disappointing, but it does not change who we are. Michigan will never support any practice that harms or shames LGBTQ+ youth. As long as I'm governor, I will protect every young person’s right to grow up safe, supported, and free to be themselves.
