Of course, what he means is that he will work to improve the lives of all Americans, even the ones who didn’t vote for him. And he’s right to do so. But let’s not conflate the duty to serve all Americans with an exoneration of the truly horrific policies/actions/people out there

Human rights are non-negotiable. Not being targeted and murdered by cops is non-negotiable. Basic human dignity is non-negotiable. Anyone against those things is 100% an enemy. Cannot/should not be reasoned with. They will never be your friend or believe in your right to exist.

I get the sentiment. And it’s nice to hear something not divisive. HOWEVER if your opponents want to strip your human rights and civil liberties, or want you to die for the economy, or forcibly separate children from their families, or they are racists/bigots - THEY ARE ENEMIES
