That tells you they're trying to find either a guard next to Giddey or a 6th man. Why would they piss off the player they likely want to keep?

There's a lot to be excited about with Giddey and Matas. Not to mention Miller, Noa, and the 2026 pick AND if the Blazers make the playoffs thats another 2026 pick plus whatever we do with the 70m in cap space this offseason. I'm not high on Rob but fuck it, he's still a kid and could be flipped to a rebuilding team (hopefully) with Pat's contract and a slew of 2nds as currency. Thats very cool. I love basic total statistics. Now what about MVPs, stat titles, all-defensive teams, DPOYs, you know.. awards that the best players in the league earn? I didnt even mention rings or FMVPs yet.. Every all-time great has some sort of unreal statistic about them that they can leverage against the other greats. They all have amazing STATS from MJ to Dr. J to even Carmelo Anthony. Looking purely at stats, players at these all-time levels can all look great. So what differenciates these greats? Awards. Who won the most? What did they win? How many times did they win it? Etc. Put Bron next to MJ and the greatest is not LeBron unless you purely care about total statistics and longevity which is valid, but then that would make for an interesting all-time greats list if thats how you rank players.

@LegendOfWinning There is a grievance clause in the CBA for this but he has to play at least 62 games to qualify for that. I'm cool with the 65 game rule but the grievance should be filed at 55 games in my opinion, not 62.

Not really. There are general names for plays. The floppy is one of the most common plays in the league. Its just a down screen (or double) on your shooter from the corner or baseline and they flare up into a shot. Its the most effective method to free up a shooter off ball. I haven't seen us run it yet or if they have, I missed it. We dont run zoom action or hammer for as much as we drive to the basket. These are the most common plays in the league. Its the handsigns and hidden language that we don't know from the Bulls playbook but all plays have generalized names and Billy doesnt run any of them. Its just PnR, Isolation, dribble handoffs, simple shit. He didnt run any plays in OKC either. Back then I used to call him a do nothing coach and now he's the coach of my team still doing the same thing; nothing.

@ReignPHX I mean we’d have to know the playbook to name plays. But Billy Donovan runs more than you’re giving him credit for. He just doesn’t use anything to set anything else up consistently

These are good points. Billy isn’t a terrible coach like some make him out to be but he isn’t great. How many times have we seen him out coached? How many times have we seen bad plays out of time outs that we all questioned what we were doing? I would all say he didn’t get the most out of Lavine as he didn’t run many catch and shoot chances for him even though that’s one of his biggest strengths. Billy isn’t horrible but I think for the people (not saying you Will) that act like there isn’t coaches that could have possible gotten more out of rosters even with them being mediocre are also wrong.

Ant can still make it if his injury is a week. Curry hasnt played a single game this season. Book and Jokic can make it if he plays the rest of the games. Kawhi can make it (he can miss 2 more games and still make it). So really the only person on your list that wont make it for sure is Curry who hasnt played at all, Giannis who has only played 36 games, and LeBron who also dealt with an injury that kept him out. Everyone else at this moment can still qualify.

I have never made that claim. Don't put other people's "logic" to mine. Bad teams create opportunity to see whats there in a player. If a player can score EFFICIENTLY on a bad team while losing, that shows that they can be a bucket with less volume on a good team. Empty numbers are for stat sheet stuffers that do all their damage after the team is blown out alreadybin the 4th

@ReignPHX I also know that Leonard miller is doing on our team what people claim Dieng is doing on Milwaukee. Putting up empty numbers by default due to opportunity of being on a bad team. That’s how it works right?

@CodyL3wis I didnt mind Dieng because I saw it as repetitive. We have Matas, Noa, then had Miller. Thats three of almost the same thing already. So yes, I wanted a Center and I'm pleased with Nick Richards as a backup.
